MILWAUKEE — The Gathering on State Street is moving from that location to a new home.

"It's nine-tenths of a mile away from this location," said executive director Lyn Hildenbrand. "Go up 12th Street and then onto Vine and you're right there."

Hildenbrand said these kind of organizations that serve the needy need more room.

"We're moving because St. Ben's needs their program space back. We've been here for two years and they're expanding their program, so they need their space back," Hildenbrand said.

"It's just incredible how people are so dedicated to what's going on here. We have volunteers who have been here for over 30 years." — executive director Lyn Hildenbrand

It provides more room and a new space for longtime volunteers and the hungry to be fed in more ways than one.

"It's just incredible how people are so dedicated to what's going on here," Hildenbrand added. "We have volunteers who have been here for over 30 years."

The Gathering serves about 90,000 meals per year. The organization serves breakfast Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., and on Saturdays it serves lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
