MILWAUKEE — One of the most haunted bars in America is located in the heart of Walkers Point - Shaker's Cigar Bar.
Once a speakeasy owned by Al Capone, the Milwaukee bar has a long history of dastardly deeds including: murder, prostitution, grave digging, and much more. That has all helped contribute to the haunting of this iconic bar.
Visited by the likes of the Discovery Channel, Ghost Hunters, Netflix, Atlas Obscura, and many more organizations, Shaker's Cigar Bar can backup it's claim as one of the most haunted places in America.
Among the scariest haunts is the story of a one-time prostitute, Molly Brennan. She was one of the top prostitutes in the area and her quarters were the penthouse suite of the building. Over the years, she has been known to appear in people's photos as well as her supposed killer/lover. A stack of bones was once found while doing renovation. It was determined the remains were of someone with a similar age to Brennan. Could it be hers? Possibly.
Many ghosts are known to appear in photos when walking through the basement. The basement is also the sight of a supposed mob burial for someone who may have crossed Al Capone. There is even a safe that the owner, Bob Weiss, said can't be opened. He also added psychics have said whatever is inside doesn't want to be revealed.
Tours happen often are are well-attended, so it's important to plan ahead. You can even stay a night in Molly Brennan's old penthouse if you have enough courage.
