MILWAUKEE -- 'West-Mex' food chain Taco John's plans to open 10-12 new locations in the Milwaukee area in the next few years, according to a report from our news partners at the Milwaukee Business Journal.
Brooks Speirs, the company's vice president of franchise development, said a couple of franchise owners are already scouting potential locations in Milwaukee.
"It just made sense to go to Milwaukee, where we have tons of brand awareness, to start building restaurants," Speirs told the Journal.
According to the report, the chain anticipates opportunities "in the next six to nine months" to take over locations where banks or restaurants have closed.
The new restaurants are planned over the next three to five years. The expansion comes after Taco John's spent 2019 redesigning the look of its stores, the Journal says.
