It's hard to believe, but the "Big Gig" is less than a month away.
If you head out to Summerfest, some of your favorite bands might be playing at the newly renovated Miller Lite Oasis.
Construction crews have been working on the project for the past eight months with the goal of opening the area up to improve sight lines to the stage.
Summerfest CEO Don Smiley said 350 workers have been grinding away to get the Miller Lite Oasis ready for bands, beverages and all around entertainment to please 12,000 fans each night of the event.
"This will be amped up a bit if you will simply because of the extra space and the time we took to lay this out," he said.
The open concept will be packed with energy. The stage has new lighting and sound systems. Inside the venue there is a pair of large video screens for those who aren't up front, along with several hospitality areas.
The Miller Lite Oasis hadn’t been renovated since 2006. The upgrades also include a total of five bars, an enclosed social space and two viewing decks along the perimeter.
"It's going to provide many more viewing vantages," Smiley said.
Just outside, patrons will find a redeveloped gift shop that used to date back to the ‘70s.
The Miller Lite Oasis will make its debut to the general public in just a week and a half for Pridefest.
The Oasis will also feature a headliner each night of the 11 day festival.
