MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office has had one message to the motoring public this year: "If you've been drinking, don’t get behind the wheel of any vehicle."
On St. Patrick's Day, a day where many take part in a drinking affair, OWI arrests dropped from 19 in 2018, to 12 in 2019.
According to the release, there was a total of 387 traffic stops on St. Patrick's Day.
“Our partnership with Milwaukee County Transit System to encourage the public, ‘to celebrate responsibly’ is a shared commitment to public safety. We are encouraged by the decrease in the number of arrests made this past weekend,” said Chief Deputy Denita Ball.
