GREENDALE --  Students and staff from St. Alphonsus School in Greendale were evacuated from their building Thursday morning after a report of a suspicious package.

According to the Greenfield Police Department, a school employee located a suspicious box outside a door, around 9:15 a.m., where deliveries are not normally made.

After the package was discovered, St. Alphonsus School students and staffed were moved to Greendale High School – which is an evacuation site for the facility -- as a precaution.

The package was determined to contain paper and was not a threat.

Students from St. Alphonsus were dismissed from the high school’s auditorium. No classes were interrupted at the high school. No other information has been released.
