A solution has been reached that will end the ban on food trucks from setting up along W National Avenue.
In a press release Friday, Alderman Bob Donovan said that the ban is no longer needed as the food trucks will not operate in a vacant lot near S 36th Street and W National Ave.
“The vacant lot will provide a good location for the food trucks and this particular issue now, in my mind, is solved,” Alderman Donovan said. “By working with the food truck operators, the impacted businesses along National Ave. and Celia Benton from Layton Boulevard West Neighbors, we were able to solve this problem with a resolution that works for all concerned parties.”
The ban was created originally due to the complaints of the trucks causing traffic jams and making parking more difficult.
Now both the food trucks and drivers can get along.
