KENOSHA -- Sunday night's snowstorm has left more than 5,000 Kenosha residents without power.
According to We Energies, about 4,680 of these outages are in the village of Pleasant Prairie. Kenosha county got the brunt of Sunday night's snowstorm. Some parts even getting 10 inches of snow.
“It’s disgusting... it's heavy, heavy snow,” Bill Thomsen said.
Thomsen started his Monday early tackling snow covering sidewalks in front of his property in the Village of Twin Lakes—he used a snow blower, a shovel and whatever else it took to get the job done.
“I don’t keep track [of how long I've been plowing]. Too long half an hour maybe —tried it with a shovel, it’s too heavy,” Thomsen.
Across town at Main Street Tap —Dawn Ornberg is shaking salt up and throwing it down.
“I hate it. It’s cold and it’s wet and it’s heavy and it sucks,” Ornberg said.
The snow even affected business for Ornberg overnight —and although she isn’t a fan of waking up to a winter wonderland, she is optimistic about this maybe being the worst we’ll see as we all brace ourselves for another winter in Wisconsin.
“I don’t know, I’m hoping that this was like the worst of it maybe,” Ornberg said.
The Blizzard Warning issued for Kenosha ends at 6 a.m. Monday.
