BROWN COUNTY (NBC 26) -- One person is dead after a single-engine plane crashed into a pickup truck in the town of Ledgeview. On Friday, the pilot was identified as John Fiddelke. Authorities identified the pickup driver as Patrick Schounard.
It happened on Dutchman Road just west of Hidden Valley Lane around 5:00 Thursday evening.
According to the Brown County Sheriff's Department, the plane was attempting to land at Martin's Aerodrome, a private airfield, when it collided with the truck traveling westbound.
The pilot of the airplane was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the pickup truck was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The cause of the crash is unknown and is still under investigation.
The FAA and the NTSB have been notified.
