GURNEE, Ill. -- Six Flags Great America is joining their fellow park in St. Louis in hosting the "30-Hour Coffin Challenge".

After the St. Louis park announced the challenge in September, thrill seekers in other parts of the country wanted a similar challenge at their local Six Flags, leading to Great America making the announcement the challenge would be coming to northern Illinois.

The challenge consists of six people staying in coffins for 30 hours straight during, other than the designated bathroom breaks during Fright Fest.

Coffin dwellers will be allowed to bring a friend along during Fright Fest operating hours on October 13, but they must leave when the park closes. If that wasn't scary enough, the Fright Fest Freaks will also be lurking around the dark outside the coffins.

The winner will be awarded two 2019 Gold Season Passes, Fright Fest Prize package including two VIP Haunted House passes, a ticket for two to ride the Freak Train for Freaks Unleashed, $300 and you will keep your coffin.

If more than one participant is remaining after 30 hours, there will be a random drawing for the $300. All participants remaining will receive the Season Passes and Fright Fest package.
