MILWAUKEE -- Can't take your coffee without some cat cuddles on the side? Milwaukee's first cat cafe, set to open next year, is for you.
"Sip & Purr," slated to open in early 2018, will allow patrons to enjoy their morning coffee (or happy hour wine) in the presence of friendly felines. In partnership with the Lakeland Animal Shelter, all cats at the cafe will be adoptable.
The new cat cafe, which is still searching for the 'purrfect' location, will offer locally-sourced beer, wine, and light meal options.
Keeping with all applicable health standards, the cafe and cat lounge areas will be separated by both a wall and doors.
“Being able to interact with adoptable cats in a cage-less, fun, relaxing environment helps make connections. Potential adopters are able to really get to know the cat’s personality and visualize how he or she would fit in at their home,” says Sip & Purr CEO & Founder Katy McHugh.
Sip & Purr also plans to add community-oriented events such as yoga with cats, wine tastings, story hours, and more.
