MILWAUKEE — The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office has taken two teens into custody in connection to the killing of 36-year-old Ee Lee in Washington Park in September of last year.
The Sheriff's Office announced in a statement Friday evening that detectives took a 17-year-old teen and a 15-year-old teen, both from Milwaukee, into custody pending a review from the District Attorney's Office. The investigation remains active.
As TMJ4 News reported, on Sept. 16 deputies responded to the Washington Park Lagoon on a report of an unconscious woman with severe injuries. When officials arrived, they found 36-year-old Ee Lee.
Lee was taken to the Milwaukee Regional Medical Center, where she died from injuries on Sept. 19, 2020. At the time, they described the incident as "fatal."
The Sheriff's Office developed leads that ended with these two teens being taken into custody Friday. The incident is being investigated as a homicide.
“The Sheriff’s Office worked tirelessly to bring to justice the persons responsible for this senseless tragedy. We trust this will begin the healing process and bring some closure to the family of Ms. Lee," Milwaukee County Sheriff Earnell R. Lucas said in a statement.
