Severe weather, thunderstorms expected Thursday night

MILWAUKEE — The winter precipitation has come to an end for almost everyone Thursday morning, but more severe weather is on the way.

Some sleet and snow showers are still possible well north of Milwaukee, with very minor additional snow accumulation. Beside a very strong east wind gusting up to 45 mph, much of the area will see a lull in the action today.

Look for rain showers and thunderstorms to move in later this afternoon and especially tonight. Heavy rain is likely and there is a small chance of a severe storm or two.

We could see over an inch of rain this evening.

Showers may linger tomorrow morning then we dry out through Saturday. We're already monitoring the next system set to bring another round of rain and snow to the area on Sunday. We may see some slushy snow accumulation once again.
