WAUKESHA COUNTY — The Western Lakes Fire District is warning people to be extremely careful of power lines after Tuesday night's storms.

Firefighters say the storms caused significant damage in parts of Waukesha County, specifically the Town of Ottawa/Summit area.

The Western Lakes Fire District say many power lines are entangled in trees and should all be considered to be live with electricity until they are removed.

Firefighters say they have cleared the roads so at least one lane is passable for emergency traffic. Multiple homes and outbuildings are also affected.

WE Energies is working with the areas to restore power and make travel safe for drivers.

Firefighters are warning people to stay clear of the area if you don't live there. They want people to not cross barricades, cones, or caution tape. Additional law enforcement will be out to protect affected properties. Expect delays for travel on all affected roads.

Firefighters say you should call if you feel in danger or need emergency assistance.
