MILWAUKEE -- Select Pick 'n Save locations in southeast Wisconsin have begun offering free, fresh fruit to kids while mom and dad do the grocery shopping.
The new program is intended to offer a healthier choice for children, who in the past have been able to take advantage of free cookie samples at the store's bakery.
21 stores in cities like West Allis, Oak Creek, New Berlin, Franklin, Cudahy, and Kenosha will participate in the fruit initiative. A full list of eligible locations was not immediately available.
After speaking with management in the area today, "both the kids and the parents love it," VP Communications & Public Affairs James Hyland told TODAY'S TMJ4.
