BLACK RIVER FALLS — Many Wisconsin communities received above-average snowfall this season, and Jack Taylor was determined to do something about it.

“The idea to build a giant snowman (came) to me last year — but we didn’t get enough snow! 2019 was a different story. When life hands you lemons, we make lemonade and since God gave us a record snowfall, I made a record snowman!” Taylor said.

"When life hands you lemons, we make lemonade and since God gave us a record snowfall, I made a record snowman!” — Jack Taylor of Black River Falls

Taylor’s snowman in Black River Falls was close to 40 feet before temperatures started to warm this week.

“I built it for my community of Black River Falls and for my county of Jackson County. I wanted to instill pride around here so that we can say that this is the home of Wisconsin’s tallest snowman ever built!” Taylor said.
