MENOMONEE FALLS, WI — Authorities continue to search for the man at the center of a Silver Alert in Waukesha County.
David Stenzel, 71, was last seen at his home around 11 p.m. Monday and authorities said he has a history of walking away.
“[He is] believed to have been suffering from some cognitive disability that would also prevent him from knowing that he might be in danger,” Waukesha County Sheriff Captain Marc Moonen said.
Tuesday afternoon a large search by air and ground was underway near Town Line Road at the border of Menomonee Falls and the Town of Lisbon. By nightfall, Stenzel had not been found and the search was called off. It will resume Wednesday according to Moonen.
Stenzel is described as a white man, 5’6”, 147 pounds, last seen wearing a black t-shirt and black jogging pants. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
