It's safe to say that not a lot of people enjoy waiting in lines at grocery stores. Thanks to a new technology at Walmart, shoppers can skip the checkout line and save time.

According to a release, the West Bend Walmart Supercenter on Paradise Drive is joining the company's expansion of new cutting-edge technologies. The store will now have Walmart's new Scan & Go, allowing customers to scan their own items to avoid the lines.

John Dooley, Walmart store manager, said, “We know speed and convenience are important to our customers, whether they’re shopping in our stores or online – so we’re always looking for new ways to save them time.”

Shoppers can download the Scan & Go app onto their mobile devices and scan the barcodes on each item or look the item up with the "Find an item" feature. As items accumulate, the app will keep track of the total in the cart. When finished shopping, simply pay for the items in the app. On the way out, show an associate the receipt.

As part of the company's initiative to increase store growth, they announced plans to invest $11 billion in 2017 and 2018 to new innovations and features. Some of the other features include: a partnership with Google Express, a Pickup Discount, free 2-Day shipping on orders over $35, advancements in the Walmart mobile app, and express services.

The Walmart mobile app allows shoppers to create lists, look for items, check prices, save receipts, shop, and it also features express services. Express services combines with the in-store Express Lanes to accelerate transactions.
