NEW BERLIN — The Hales Corners Speedway has been a fond memory for many Milwaukee residents over the last decade.
Known as a place that brought all types of drivers together, many recall having great times with family and friends at the speedway. The dirt track held it's final race in 2003.
Racing legends and fans plan to hold a reunion on Sunday presented by Pat Heaney, a speedway historian and former racer. Heaney plans to take attendees through a trip down memory lane. Filled with race cars, stories from the past and the pictures to prove it all.
"The speedway was such a large family," said Heaney.
The New Berlin VFW Post plans to hold the annual event on September 22 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
