Store back after filing for bankruptcy

The Mountains are gone, but the Outdoors is back and here to stay.

Last year, Gander Mountain declared for bankruptcy. With all of their stores set to close, Marcus Lemonis swiped up shares of the company on the cheap, rebranded the store to "Gander Outdoors" as the company's new CEO. The newly branded company is now set to reopen seven Wisconsin locations.

The seven returning locations are in Appleton, Baraboo, Brookfield, Eau Claire, Green Bay, Sheboygan and Kenosha, which brings Wisconsin's total number of Gander Outdoors to 11.

All of the stores will be open by the end of June and will have larger active and watersport departments.

According to a news release by Gander Outdoors, the stores will produce 200 Milwaukee area jobs.

"It was important to me to bring the Gander Outdoors back to the wonderful community of Milwaukee," Lemonis said in the release. "The employees were top notch and the store was a great performer serving the outdoor enthusiast community."

Gander Outdoors sells everything from bikes, to boats, to ice fishing equipment. For more information about products or store openings, head to their website.
