The Milwaukee Police Officer shot and killed in the line of duty Wednesday will be taken from the hospital to the Medical Examiner's Office.

There will be a procession from the hospital to the ME's Office.
The officer was shot and killed near 28th and Wright at about 5 p.m. Officers were responding to a call of a man wanted for drug and gun charges.
The man opened fire and hit the officer twice. After an exchange of gunfire, the suspect was taken into custody.
The officer is a 17-year veteran, according to Milwaukee Police Chief Alfonso Morales.
