GREEN BAY — The Pro Football Writers of America picked Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers as its Most Valuable Player in the NFL for 2020.
To be clear, the award is not the same as the more prestigious Associated Press NFL Most Valuable Player Award (which Rodgers won for the Packers in 2014 and 2011), but the PFWA's MVP is an honor ahead of Sunday's NFC Championship Game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Official Associated Press MVP will be announced on Feb. 6, just ahead of the Super Bowl LV.
Rodgers started all 16 games this season, completing 372 of 526 passes for 4,299 yards and 48 touchdowns with five interceptions, according to the Packers.
Meanwhile, Tennessee running back Derrick Henry and Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald were named the PFWA Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year.
