MOUNT PLEASANT, Wis. -- Police in Mount Pleasant are searching for two suspects connected to a pepper spray attack at a Potbelly Sandwich Shop restaurant.
According to a news release from police, officers were called to the store at 5930 Washington Ave. just after 11 a.m. Tuesday for reports of a woman who was unhappy with the service she received who had become "belligerent."
That's when police say a second woman came into the restaurant and "began spraying pepper spray, affecting all the employees and the food." She also sprayed one employee directly in the face, police say, before running off.
Police say both women are suspects and have not been located. The case remains under investigation.
The South Shore Fire Department was called to treat the restaurant's employees, but they were not taken to the hospital. The location was closed for the rest of the day.
