Police: UW-Milwaukee student robbed at gunpoint

MILWAUKEE — The UW-Milwaukee Police Department is reminding everyone to remain aware of their surroundings after a UWM student was robbed at gunpoint.

Police say shortly after midnight Wednesday, a UWM student was approached by a man in his 20's. Officers say the man pointed a shot gun at the student and demanded their property. The suspect got the student's cell phone and left the scene as a passenger in a white 4-door Sedan. The vehicle was last seen traveling southbound on N. Bartlett Avenue.

Police describe the suspect as a man in his 20's, wearing a dark red sweatshirt and a white shirt underneath.
