GRAFTON-- Investigators are working to determine the circumstances behind a threatening message written online about Grafton High School over the weekend.
Authorities said that school administrators were notified of a concerning social media post with information that was perceived as threatening in nature over the weekend. The Grafton Police department was immediately contacted who opened an investigation, according to a statement.
Police discovered that a student made a comment on social media discouraging students from coming to school on Tuesday, according to a statement from administrators.
"School Resource Officer Radtke and I have spoken to the student who posted the comment and that student indicated it was made in a joking manner," said Principal Scott Mantei.
"Regardless of the intent, comments of this nature are inappropriate and are always taken seriously," the principal said.
Police will have an additional presence at school Tuesday as a precaution.
