Police: 77-year-old Dodge County man still missing despite tips from the public

MAYVILLE — The Mayville Police Department is still looking for 77-year-old John Bachhuber.

Police say on Monday, Feb. 17, the Mayville Police Department received a missing person complaint from Bachhuber's family from the City of Mayville. After confirming Bachhuber was not in his home, a Silver Alert was issued and officers began attempting to locate Bachhuber.

On Tuesday, Feb. 18, the Mayville Police Department received two separate tips from citizens who saw Bachhuber walking southbound on STH 67 near Dunn Road, between 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 15 and 12:20 a.m. on Sunday, February 16. Police say a coordinated search effort was then conducted in that area, including using an unmanned drone, K9 units, and snowmobile patrols, but weren't able to find him.

A RAVE emergency communication (automated phone call) was also broadcast to people living within five miles of the search area alerting residents to check their property. A two-mile canvass was also conducted by law enforcement of local properties and out buildings.
