TMJ4's Stephanie Haines interviewed the driver of the vehicle, Richard Oliver. Hear his story tonight on TMJ4 News at 6 p.m.
A GoFundMe fundraiser was launched to help the man who accidentally drove off the Zoo Interchange, falling 70 feet below. The driver, Richard Oliver, will now need a special wheelchair and an accessible home, the fundraiser's organizer says.
Oliver suffered multiple injuries that don't allow him to walk or care for himself, the organizer, Candice Haid, writes.
Wisconsin Department of Transportation video shows the vehicle he was in as it barreled off the Zoo Interchange and landed 70 feet below onto I-94, in Milwaukee last Saturday morning.
"Please help our family recover and get Richard to a stable place," Haid writes for the fundraiser. So far, it has raised about $3,300 of its $10,000 goal, as of Friday afternoon.
