COLUMBIA COUNTY — Residents of Columbia County were being asked to stay inside after inmates escaped from a correctional facility.
The Columbia County Sheriff's Office said two inmates escaped from the Columbia Correctional Institution Thursday morning.
The inmates are now in custody, according to the Rockford Police Department.
They arrived at a shelter in Rockford looking for food when they were recognized.
Both escaped inmates from the Columbia Correctional Facility in Portage, WI are now in custody. They arrived at Miss Carly’s and were recognized from their posted pictures. More details to follow. #rockfordilpolicedepartment
