MILWAUKEE — The ready-to-eat products at the Outpost Natural Foods cooperative on 2826 S. Kinnickinnic Ave in Milwaukee tested positive for salmonella.

The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection suspended the cooperatives meat establishment license. Additionally, the City of Milwaukee temporarily stopped the company from retail food processing activities.

The presence of Salmonella was found during a routine health and safety test. The press release sent from the DATCP did not mention a date when inspection happened. However, the state did say that Outpost Natural Foods is cooperating and working to correct the issue.
