MADISON— Want to own part of Oscar Mayer’s history? Now is your chance!

The new co-owners of the former Oscar Mayer plant is auctioning off eight floors of equipment starting on Wednesday.

WMTV-TV reportsthe sale lasts until Friday, but Monday and Tuesday are the inspection period where bidders can come in and look at any items of interest.

The Reich Brothers told WMTV-TV more than 250 bidders have registered for the auction from all across the country.

"There are so many different items. You know we have lawn mowers here to shop letters all the way up to the full-scale production equipment in the facility so there's really a lot of different items for a lot different types of buyers," said Jeffrey Kopp, the Capital Equipment Specialist with the Reich Brothers.

Kopp said there are items for metal workers, food service and general maintenance items.

"I would think the steaming equipment and the meat-grinding equipment are really going to hold the day," Kopp said.

He said they generally sell about 90% of items.
