It's so close you can almost smell the fresh baked chocolate chip cookies in the air. Midwest Express Airlines has announced that it leased space for its corporate headquarters at Mitchell International Airport Thursday.
The headquarters will be located in the former home of the 440th Air Force Reserve Station on South Jasper Ave. in the MKE Regional Business Park. The one-year, renewable, 1,500-square-foot lease was finalized and signed Thursday. The airline expects to start moving into the space in the upcoming weeks.
"Establishing our office is a significant step toward fulfilling our commitment to returning Midwest Express Airlines to the sky," said Greg Aretakis, president of Midwest Express Airlines. "We have several steps to take before more details can be shared, but our path is clear, so stay tuned for more updates."
According to Aretakis, there has been an outpouring of support for re-establishing of Midwest Express Airlines around the country. As a response to the excitement, the airline is offering Founders Club Midwest Express merchandise items at www.bringbackmidwestexpress.com.
