One person is dead after an Amtrak train collided with a car in Brookfield Monday evening.
Brookfield Police said the 70-year-old driver of the car died in the crash.
The crash happened Monday evening near Brookfield and River Roads at about 4:15 p.m. The train was headed for Seattle.
Amtrak officials said the crew and all 193 passengers were unharmed in the crash.
Brookfield Police said the passengers are still on the train, and there is heat to keep them warm. Police say they hope the train will start moving again shorty.
The victim’s identity is being withheld while police try to notify the family. Brookfield Road is closed while police are investigating.
