The operator of an Amish buggy has been hospitalized after a collision with a semi truck in Eau Claire County Thursday.
The Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office said the truck was behind the buggy, and the driver was distracted while drinking an energy drink.
He rear-ended the buggy while going 55 mph, destroying the buggy. The sheriff said the buggy operator's injuries were "significant."
The truck driver was not injured in the crash.
