The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner has confirmed the death of an adult male Saturday morning after a crash near 10th and State.
The crash happened about 11:14 a.m., according to the Milwaukee Fire Department.
A Milwaukee County sheriff's deputy was traveling northbound on North 10th Street when he collided with a vehicle traveling westbound in the intersection of North 10th and West State Street.
The other vehicle rolled over as a result of the crash, causing the two passengers inside, a male and a female, to become trapped.
Fire personnel extricated both passengers, but unfortunately the male driver succumbed to his injuries. The other passenger was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition.
"Our prayers go out to the family, and that they be comforted in this difficult time," said Milwaukee County Sheriff Earnell Lucas.
The sheriff's deputy involved in the crash is a 50-year-old man who has served the sheriff's office for 23 years. He was taken to the hospital for observation and is in stable condition.
