WAUWATOSA — For the second night in a row, the Wauwatosa Police Department is reporting no injuries or property damage during overnight protests.
On Sunday night, four people were arrested for curfew violations in Wauwatosa. The news comes as people continue to gather in response to officer Joseph Mensah not being charged in the shooting and killing of 17-year-old Alvin Cole.
Police say shortly before 6 p.m. Sunday, a group of around 50 people had gathered at the 69th Street Plaza in protest.
By 7 p.m., police began asking the group to disburse because a curfew had gone into effect. Everyone except two people disbursed, and those two people were arrested, police say.
Two other arrests were made later that night, again for curfew violations.
After two nights of peaceful protests, the Wauwatosa Police Department said they "appreciate those who made lawful choices these past several days by staying out of public spaces during the hours of the emergency curfew, which has now expired."
