NEW YORK -- Blue's Clues will be reaching a new generation of preschoolers soon as Nickelodeon has announced a remake of its beloved puppy Blue.
Business Wire reports that the series has been picked up for 20 episodes, which will feature a new look and new characters. The premise will still be the same, though, centered on a girl puppy named Blue who engages with her young viewers while working with her host.
Casting for the new host will begin at the end of March, including an open call in Southern California on April 14. Production is set to begin this summer.
President of Nickelodeon Group Cyma Zarghami says the original show set the standard for shows the company has made since. “The new, modern version of Blue’s Clues will capture all the original’s creativity and visual identity for a whole new audience ready for its fun adventures and expertly designed problem-solving curriculum.”
