We might all be able to save our breath in American Family Insurance's takeover of the Miller Park naming rights.
The company has released news that they may feature Milwaukee Brewers legends for the stadium's new name, signage and street signs, according to the Milwaukee Business Journal.
American Family Insurance officials were shocked by the amount of criticism that came along with them becoming the stadium naming-rights sponsor for 2021.
"We did not try to push Miller out," said Jack Salzwedel, American Family Insurance chair and chief executive officer. "It was actually the Brewers that approached us and had assured us that they had spent time with Miller and that there was a need for them to look at a transition with the naming rights."
Salzwedel says the company is looking to show respect for Brewers legends like retired Major League Baseball commissioner Bud Selig and Hank Aaron during the change.
American Family struck a 15-year deal with the Brewers to replace MillerCoors in January. MillerCoors LLC has held the naming rights for the stadium since its debut in 2001.
