Milwaukee County will be one of five counties across the country that will get national attention from NBC News as the 2020 campaign unfolds.
Meet The Press is focusing on voter enthusiasm here after 38,000 Democratic voters in the city of Milwaukee stayed home in 2016 compared to 2012.
"Their ability to be enthusiastic or unenthusiastic might be the difference between Democrats winning the presidency and not, that's why we are there (Milwaukee)," said Meet the Press moderator Chuck Todd.
On Thursday, a crew from Meet The Press was at Good City Brewing on the east side for a focus group with African-American voters about the race.
Todd tells TMJ4's Charles Benson the handful of Democrats in the focus group have yet to lock in on a presidential candidate, but they do have strong views about President Trump.
"We did not sense any enthusiasm for one democratic candidate, said Todd. "What you sense was a determination to simply defeat Donald Trump with these voters. And the question Democrats are wondering nationally, and strategists are - is that enough?"
