A resident spoke to TMJ4 about what she heard and saw, but asked us not to use her name.

"I just kept hearing boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. Like the echo from the side of the house, we can hear everything," she shared.

She said she was getting ready for work when she first heard the shooting.

"A girl and a guy got out of the car and just started shooting like they were crazy," she said. "Almost 72 bullets flying different ways through houses, my truck, through the guy's (house) next door."

Neighbors believe the shooting was retaliation for an incident that happened the night before.

"They started shooting last night I guess and they came back to retaliate," she said.

Looking at the aftermath in her neighborhood just hours after the shooting, she knows it could have been much worse.

"I'm just worried cause there's a lot of kids on this block. I've been here 15 years and this has never happened like this before," she said. "There's sometimes when kids are sitting in their cars, the cars of the parents that live around here, they just sit in the cars and how about if that car would've had kids in there, you know?"

Now she's pleading for a stop to what's already been a very violent year.

"This violence has got to stop. Somebody has to do something about this," she said.
