A 26-year-old Milwaukee Police officer was struck by a car while conducting a traffic stop on 24th and Capitol Drive Monday night.
The vehicle that struck the officer was traveling westbound and continued for several blocks after the accident before the driver fled on foot, police say.
The officer was taken to Froedert Hospital and is currently in stable condition.
MPD says the officer has five years of experience.
