A man accused of killing his girlfriend earlier this month has been captured in Louisville, Kentucky by US Marshals, Milwaukee Police say.

Forty-two-year-old Ramone Jones has been charged for allegedly stabbing Jamie Wilson six times Feb. 5 near 70th and Fiebrantz.

Jones had been officially charged despite being on the run for weeks.

The victim's father says Jones had been released from jail just days prior to his daughter's murder for another domestic violence incident.

Milwaukee Police arrested Jones Jan. 30 after a criminal complaint says he went to Wilson’s home and threatened to shoot her and her 11-year-old daughter.

Seventy-two hours after Jones was arrested, he was freed on $1,000 bond according to the family.

The criminal complaint alleges that Jones returned to the home of his ex-girlfriend shot and injured her friend, and fatally stabbed her in the garage in front of her daughter.
