MILWAUKEE — Family has identified a pedestrian hit and killed Tuesday night at 25th and Clybourn.
Milwaukee police said a man who was "legally standing in the median" was backed over by a vehicle being driven in reverse.
Family has identified that man as Nathan Garski.

“Unfortunately, he [Garski] didn’t see the car coming and we have a tragedy,” said Milwaukee Police Inspector Daniel Thompson.
Thompson said first responders attempted life-saving measures on Garski to no avail. Police said the driver is in custody for suspicion of being under the influence at the time of the crash.
“All I know at this time is that the car was actually going in reverse and the victim was actually facing southbound, didn’t see the car coming,” Thompson said.
Thompson said a Milwaukee Fire Department Battalion Chief who was responding to the scene ended up in a car accident just one block away.
“Red lights and sirens, operating their vehicle correctly,” Thompson said. “Another vehicle was going northbound through the intersection, struck the battalion chief.”
Thompson said no one was hurt in that crash.
