MILWAUKEE -- Five people were found dead inside a home in Milwaukee Monday morning, according to police.
According to police calls for service, officers were dispatched for a report of a shooting just after 10:45 a.m. Monday. Fire and EMS were called at 10:55 a.m.
MPD "received a call from an individual who stated that his family was dead," Chief Alfonso Morales said at a news conference.
The person who called police was taken into custody. Five victims with ages ranging from 14-41 were found dead inside the home, police say.
The weapon involved in the shooting has been recovered, police say. There is no ongoing threat to the public.
"Our prayers are out to the family," Chief Morales said.
