Milwaukee neighborhoods host voter registration events 25 days from Nov. election

MILWAUKEE — We're just 25 days away from the November election as voter registration events continue to happen in Milwaukee.

On Oct. 9, two community voter registration events will be held in Milwaukee.

Souls to the Polls, in partnership with Milwaukee Health Services, Inc., will be registering people to vote at two locations, the MLK Heritage Health Center and the Isaac Coggs Heritage Health Center.

The voter registration events will take place from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m., and there will also be COVID-19 supplies given away like, hand sanitizer and facial tissues. COVID-19 tests will be available upon appointments.

The Silver Spring Neighborhood Center (SSNC) is also hosting an outdoor "Voter Registration Sensation" event from 12 p.m. - 6:30 p.m., at 5460 N. 64th St.

Voting registration and information will be available as well as refreshments with music and entertainment.

After the registration event, SSNC will have a free screening of the movie 'Selma,' based on civil rights activist Martin Luther King Jr, at 7 p.m.

For the screening, SSNC asks the public social distance.
