The Milwaukee Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred on Tuesday, Jan. 19, at approximately 11:50 p.m., on the 1900 block of S. 8th Street.
Police say a 35-year-old man "obtained and fired a handgun in his sleep," striking a 29-year-old woman.
The woman was transported to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
Police took the man into custody and are referring this incident to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office.
