A Milwaukee man has been arrested after speeding drunk in a construction zone with a 1-year-old child in the car.

The Racine County Sheriff's Office said a deputy performed a traffic stop for a vehicle who was traveling 84 mph in a posted 60 mph construction zone on I-94 at CTH K Monday evening.

Once making contact with the driver, later identified as 31-year-old Reginald Taylor, the deputy realized he was intoxicated and not able to safely operate a vehicle.

Taylor was in the vehicle with a 1-year-old child and a friend who was determined not to be impaired.

Taylor submitted to a PBT test that resulted in a .105. He was arrested for felony operating while intoxicated 3rd offense with a child under the age of 16 in the vehicle. He was also cited for speeding and operating after revocation.

He will be held at the Racine County Jail on a $5,000 cash bond.

The 1-year-old child was removed from the scene by family.
