MILWAUKEE — The holidays have arrived in Milwaukee. Santa was spotted downtown this afternoon. He traded in his sleigh for The Hop. There is now a Hoppy Holidays theme streetcar. He was there checking to see who was on his naughty or nice list.

While Santa kept exploring, people were getting into the spirit of the season at Pere Marquette Park. From now until January 1, the park will be illuminated with the Milwaukee Holiday Lights Festival. The Sisters of Contagious Joy were in the park helping to kick things off.

"If you are looking for the joy that's where we want to be with all the lights and everything for the City of Milwaukee," said Twinkle Joy.

Families at the park got to see the Milwaukee Flyers, musicians and dancers all helping to light the park.

"It's great," said Caiden, 6. "There are lights all around."

Just across the river, the city's Christmas tree was waiting to be turned on.

"I like to see the tree lights," said Trinity, 9.

And the kids knew a special guest was on the way!

"Santa," yelled Trinity and her friends when he arrived.

The Jolly Old Elf arrived at City Hall just in time to help officially start the holidays and light the tree.
