Milwaukee Fire Department Lieutenant charged with sexual assault of a child

OAK CREEK — The Milwaukee Fire Department says a lieutenant with the department has been arrested.

Firefighters say at approximately 8:15 a.m. on Wednesday, November 20, the Oak Creek Police Department, with the cooperation of the Milwaukee Fire Department, arrested a male Milwaukee Fire Department Lieutenant.

A criminal complaint says 44-year-old Robert Olson has been charged with second-degree sexual assault of a child. a Class C Felony.

Court documents say Olson had multiple sexual encounters with the minor in a nearly 3-month period. The details of what Olson is accused of doing are graphic and TODAY'S TMJ4 will not be sharing that information.

If convicted, Olson could face up to 40 years in prison, a $100,000 fine, or both.

The Milwaukee Fire Department says they are taking this matter very seriously and has opened an internal investigation.
