Milwaukee FBI operation leads to 17 arrests in alleged 'violent' drug trafficking ring

MILWAUKEE — An FBI operation that happened in Milwaukee Tuesday morning led to the arrest of 17 involved in a "violent" drug trafficking ring.

Several law enforcement agencies participated in the federal operation that focused in and around the Harambee neighborhood of Milwaukee. 24 people have been federally charged in connection to a "Buffum Meinecke Boys" drug operation. 17 of the 24 were arrested in the operation Tuesday.

During the operation, drugs such as heroin, cocaine and marijuana were seized. Almost $300,000 in cash was also seized, as well as over 50 firearms.

The FBI, Milwaukee Police Department, Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office and the DEA participated in the operation.
