MILWAUKEE — The Milwaukee County Zoo's annual "Giving Tree" is now on display and will be throughout the month of December.

The tree is on display in the Zoo’s U.S. Bank Gathering Place, and gives Zoo guests the opportunity to give a gift, gift card, or monetary donation to their favorite animal.

The tree is decorated with handmade ornaments that feature animal enrichment requests from the zookeepers, ranging from food treats to monetary donations. The ornaments were made by the Zoological Society’s Zoo Pride volunteers.

Each ornament features the name of an enrichment item, the name of the animal, the cost, and information on where to purchase, the Milwaukee County Zoo said in a press release Tuesday.

Visitors can take an ornament off the tree and take it home to purchase the item listed. Once you purchase the item, you can drop it off at the Zoo’s Administration Office in the U.S. Bank Gathering Place. Just let the gatekeeper know you are there on behalf of the "Giving Tree."

If you do not wish to purchase the item but want to help, you can take an ornament and make a monetary donation. Then, volunteers with the Zoological Society will purchase the gift.
